Historic Family-Run Hotel

Pensione Seguso, a family-run hotel since World War I, occupies a 16th-century building on the Zattere waterfront. The property features antique furnishings from the Seguso family collection. A private dock allows direct access by motorboat or gondola.

Rooms with Canal Views

Guest rooms include 24-hour room service, safes, and Wi-Fi. Many overlook the Giudecca Canal or S. Vio Canal, with views of Venetian palaces. Some rooms connect for families, and cribs are available upon request. Shared bathrooms have a 1:1 ratio with rooms.

Breakfast and Common Areas

A continental breakfast buffet is served in two dining rooms. The lobby leads to a seating area with Venetian-style lighting. The hotel has an elevator and is wheelchair-accessible, rare for Venice.

Dorsoduro Cultural Hub

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Accademia Gallery and Peggy Guggenheim Collection. San Marco is one vaporetto stop away. The Dorsoduro district has artist studios, bookshops, and cafes frequented by local students.

Venice Event Access

During the Redentore Festival in July, guests can watch fireworks over St. Mark's Basin. The front desk provides tickets for the Venice Night Trail running event. Marco Polo Airport is reachable via Alilaguna water bus from nearby Zattere stop.

“What stands out is the authentic Venetian style and the prime location near the sea and a canal, where rooms provide stunning views; the building exudes old-world charm that's hard to replicate. The staff are very friendly, and a satisfactory breakfast with good coffee adds to the experience; overall, I think this hotel offers an unbeatable Venetian experience.”

Pensione Seguso is often praised for providing an authentic Venetian experience in a beautiful location near the Zattere vaporetto stop, conveniently connecting guests to the train station and other attractions. Many rooms offer lovely canal views, and guests appreciate the traditionally decorated, clean rooms. The breakfast is generally considered adequate, although some guests have noted that an earlier start time would be preferable. Several good restaurants can be found near the hotel along the canal.

The guy at check-in seemed like he tried to scam us out of 6 euros when we paid the city tax using cash. It was obvious he knew what he was doing. That really tainted the whole stay. I was told to leave the keys at the front desk whenever I left the building. Our room did not match the pictures for the same room type. It was small and dark, the bed was not comfortable, and the cleaning products smelled so strong. that they triggered my allergies.
